North Blackburn Shopping Centre is an existing neighbourhood shopping centre anchored by a Woolworths Supermarket, IGA supermarket and approximately 40 tenancies.
The centre was initially opened in 1967 as an early example, convenience-based at grade shopping centre, accommodating both key anchor tenants and other general retailers.
North Blackburn is a suburb located 16 km east of Melbourne CBD.
The vision is to reset and reposition the North Blackburn Shopping Centre by completing redevelopment works to expand and refurbish the centre, whilst maintaining its classification as a convenience based shopping centre meeting the current needs of the local population catchment.
The project has comprised early stage property and development advisory services to investigate the potential for expansion and redevelopment of the centre.
This has involved a detailed review of existing centre conditions and investigating potential market share, whilst developing several master planning options combined with feasibility modelling, to better quantify and ascertain the opportunity and challenges relative to various schemes.
